Last Minute Morocco Holidays

Known as the ‘Maghreb’ in Arabic which means ‘West’, you will find Morocco on Africa’s North-Western coast. Its northern most tip where the holiday town of Tangier is located makes up the lower part of the Strait of Gibraltar, the Atlantic Ocean’s entryway into the Mediterranean sea, with the Spanish mainland and famous Rock of Gibraltar making up the upper part. Morocco is one of those countries where everyone has heard of its most famous cities but hardly anyone will be able to tell you its capital; Casablanca, Fes, Tangier and Marrakesh, you have heard of those right? Of course, and they should be your destinations if you are planning a last minute holiday to Morocco. But what about Rabat? No, well it’s only the capital, but don’t worry, frankly speaking you have no need to go there. If you want to get really rustic you could consider Tafraoute. It doesn’t hаve а lot оf history. Іt wаs build аs а French administrative center аnd аfter independance іt became а Moroccan one. The region itself has more history. Fes on the other hand is a real gem. This is a truly unique city worth jumping on a plane leaving tomorrow.

Is Tomorrow a Bank Holiday

OK, well this is not the most sophisticated website in the UK so don’t expect a nice little popup to start flashing in neon pink and red clearly stating words to the effect as to whether tomorrow is a bank holiday or not. No, rather than going to all the hassle of figuring out how to make that work in HTML, CSS and all the other whizz-bang technologies of the internet, we thought we’d just list out the UK’s bank holidays for not only 2014 but 2015 and 2016 as well and leave it to you dear reader to figure out whether today is the day before anyone of the bank holidays listed here. This introduces another complexity in that it assumes you know how many days there are in the months so that you can make sure you get your May Day correct. So for the benefit of all of you out there who forgot your nursery rhymes, Thirty days have September, April, June, and November. All the rest have 31,Except for February which has 28 except in a leap year. Now once you’ve figured out what’s what, you can get on with booking a last minute holiday here.

New Year’s Day

So unless you are Mayan or heavily engrained in your own culture be it Shao Lin, Hinduism or sub-Saharan etc…you are probably well aware that the 1st of January is New Year’s Day, the day upon which we count the start of another year as per the Gregorian calendar. You can safely bet that New Year’s Day in 2015, 2016 and for the foreseeable few centuries will also fall on 1st January!

Good Friday

Part of the Christian Easter celebration, Good Friday falls on the Friday preceding Easter Sunday which is determined as being the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the vernal equinox. The vernal equinox also known as the spring equinox is the point at which the day and night are of equal length, marking the beginning of spring. You don’t really care do you? What you want to know is this…

Falling in the month of August when most Brits like to take their annual holiday, this one is the strategic bank holiday by which you only have to take nine days off work rather than 10, to get a full 2-week stretch.

Last Minute Holiday Leaving from Glasgow

Famed for its incredibly cheap flight fares, sometimes as little as £1, Ryanair offers a number of last minute holidays leaving from Glasgow Prestwick airport.

Amongst the holiday destinations Ryanair flys to from Glasgow are Warsaw in Poland, Milan, Pisa and Rome in Italy, Alicante, Malaga and Barcelona in Spain, Ibiza, Malta and the Canary Islands.

Alicante for example is situated by the Mediterranean Sea on the southern coast of Spain and surprises its visitors with a vivid mixture of Spanish culture, architecture and history. The Castell de Santa Barbara is situated atop a hill that makes for a lovely trek and rewarding views over the bay.

A town that took much of the brunt of the Second World War, Warsaw has come a long way in the years since. A vibrant, busy city, it has slowly been emerging as a new cultural gem of the former Eastern Bloc. New gleaming skyscrapers and restaurants may be appearing every other day, but Warsaw’s many historic buildings serve as a reminder of this city’s glorious history.

About Ryanair Holidays Leaving From Glasgow

Like many no-frills carriers, Ryanair has had its fair share of bad press every now and then especially in regards to ‘hidden charges’. Many of these are clearly explained on their website however and as long as you keep yourself abreast of where the ‘hidden charges’ are actually charged, there is no need to worry about being caught-out unaware.

But these are just the kind of hang-ups that jet-setters rushing to book a last minute holiday leaving tomorrow from Glasgow are likely to get caught-out on.

For example on Ryanair, you need to pay for each bag you check in. There is no free allowance. The first bag upto 15kg costs upwards of £15 depending on season and a 20kg first bag will cost you upwards of £25. A second bag of maximum weight 15kg starts from £35 and up. (Figures as of July 2012).

Also be careful not to forget that passengers are required to check-in online and print off their boarding passes before coming to the airport. Online check-in can be completed up to 15 days before your flights, and must be done at least 4 hours before flight departure.

Last Minute Holiday Leaving Tomorrow

Why is it that holidays always seem to be booked at the last minute? Well first of all, we probably spend too much time deciding where to go. The world after all has so much to offer, how can you choose just one place to visit?

And if you are travelling with friends as one invariably is, everyone has their own preferences. Some people like to spend their time lounging on the beach whereas others are the complete opposite and need to venture deep into the jungle. Or maybe you like to visit the historic monuments of a city whereas your best mate (who you thought was your soulmate) likes fine dining and contemporary performances. Or perhaps you like to be up at the crack of dawn whereas your spouse has decided that this is the opportunity they have been waiting for in order get a proper sleep in.

The list goes on and on. No doubt booking a last minute holiday leaving tomorrow with your friends and family sounds like and usually is great fun, but make sure there is sufficient compatibility amongst your group otherwise you may find yourself engaging in the activities you want to do by yourself most of the time as well as potentially triggering almighty bust-ups that may take a while to heal.
